FRENCH LANGUAGE WINE COURSES

Tastings

We are probably unique in being able to offer wine tastings in the French language. This could interest “French clubs”, twinning associations and educational establishments. The tasting can be tailored to suit your requirements, dealing with France as a whole, a particular region or offering a France versus the New World slant. As well as being a wine merchant of some 20 years experience, I am also a linguist with a B.A. in French with over 30 years in teaching. I am also a member of the Confrerie St. Etienne Wine Guild of Alsace.

Wine Courses

We also offer tailor-made courses in French dealing with situations in which you might find yourself when visiting France as part of your job in the wine trade. These might include:

• visiting the vineyard
• understanding wine tasting terms
• negotiating prices
• general social chat over dinner etc

The length of the course and the venue would be dependant on the client’s requirements. A residential course could be arranged and the package could suit either an individual or a small group. Please contact Phil Hargreaves on 01964-532746 to discuss the matter further and to arrange a preliminary meeting which would be free of charge. Although these courses are directed mainly at the wine trade, we can also offer French language based courses to the holidaymaker who is interested in wine and would like to understand more when they visit wine cellars in France.
