Welcome to Hengate Wine School
Hengate Wine School is one arm of Hengate Wines which was established in 1988 and has brought quality wines to the Beverley area since then, largely through its Premier Cru Wine Club. The Wine School aims to extend the activities of the wine club by bringing wine courses to a wider audience.
The courses are organised in pleasant surroundings with like-minded people who enjoy drinking wine and would like to learn more about it. The venues are local to the East Riding of Yorkshire and are usually hotels or clubs.
The courses will suit all levels of knowledge from the introductory look at wines from around the world and basic tasting techniques, to the in-depth studies of a particular region. The emphasis always will be on the enjoyment of wine.
At Hengate Wine School, we are linguists as well as wine merchants so can offer French language courses aimed at the trade for those who visit France and need to improve their language skills. We can also offer tastings in French for private groups.
A translation service is also available English-French-Japanese by qualified linguists and translators.
